The other day we tried a new (to us) vegan option at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, available at Nomad Lounge and Tiffins – but there’s a catch to this vegan option! Keep reading to find out exactly where and how to order these vegan Korean Impossible Meatballs!
You can enjoy this new option at either Tiffins or the Nomad Lounge next door. Both of which can take walkups on most weekdays or off peak times, otherwise you can make a reservation for Tiffins or wait for a table at Nomad if the bar is full. Your wait time may vary based on the time of day, day of the week and time of year, but it’s usually not too bad. Both areas are wonderfully themed so be sure to take in all the surroundings as you sit and wait for your meal.
When we saw there had been a menu change, Melissa from VeganDisneyWorld and I popped over to check it out, even though we didn’t see this item on the app or online menu. Well, as it turns out, the reason we couldn’t find it was it is actually added to the Kids Menu! Yes, the Bunny Chow that was once on the Kids Menu at both spots (made with Impossible meat and had remained even when they took away the Impossible Sliders from Nomad Lounge and replaced it with the Korean Mushroom Bao) is no more, replaced with – Korean Impossible Meatballs! We asked for all the different ways we could get them, so we could share that with you.
Yes, the Korean Impossible Meatballs are a kids option, which normally come with 2 sides. However, in the past, with the Tuna Poke Bowl, we were able to replace the Tuna with Tofu back when Tiffins had a tofu entree (which I loved and still miss but the Szechuan Noodles are good). We asked if we could switch the tuna for the Impossible Meatballs and were told yes! So you get rice, edamame, kimchee, and carrots with 3 Korean Impossible Meatballs. Pro Tip: ask for extra sauce for the meatballs and you can pour it over them or the whole bowl.
We were also able to order the Kids Korean Impossible Meatballs by themselves, with no sides or kids drink. We also ordered the Korean Mushroom Bao to try those again too. So you might have more success trying the kids meatballs by themselves if it’s not all you’re trying to order, but it’s worth asking anyway.
We both really enjoyed the new meatballs. They do share the same sauce as the mushroom bao, but obviously with Impossible meatballs instead of mushrooms. It’s a nice protein option to add to the Poke Bowl for sure. When we tried the Mushroom Bao, they were also better than we had both separately had them the first time. Less spongy/slimy so that is also a great improvement.
We also got the modified bread service, which removes the Brazilian cheese bread. You can request more of the Thai Milk Bread or the Papadam, all the sauces are vegan as-is, (Guava, Thai Coconut Curry, and Ginger Pear Chutney) but note the Papadam is fried in a shared fryer with egg and dairy. I do love this bread service, and all of the sauces are delicious in their own way. Melissa discovered the guava sauce on the meatballs is a win.
