Territory Lounge, located over in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (one of my favorite resorts on property) has been quietly offering unique vegan options, and they just keep getting better! Previously, they had the Vegan Chimichurri Dip with House Made Chips, which was fantastic. It was then replaced when they reopened with the Popcorn Flight, which can be modified to be vegan by switching out the parmesan popcorn for one of the other flavors (we recommend truffle). And now we have an absolutely amazing new offering – the Loaded Macaroni & Cheese, which is 100% vegan as is. Let’s dig in.
Territory Lounge is open from 4pm till 10pm, but hours can change so check before visiting. The popcorn flight is still available, but added to the menu as of this past week is the Loaded Macaroni and Cheese. This mac and cheese features cavatappi pasta, house made plant-based provolone and pepper jack cheeses, chorizo style Beyond sausage, Whistle Pig 10 year straight rye whisky pickled chiles, spiced gremolata. and fried onion strings. It is smokey and delicious. I would never guess it was plant-based from taste alone.
Now it’s $18, but it’s actually a decent-sized portion and really entree-worthy even though it’s on a bar menu. I really really hope they add this to other places. If this was at Hoop Dee Doo or Whispering Canyon? I’d be dining there every week. The flavors are smokey, creamy, and the chilis give it a kick of spice that really brings it home. The sausage is wonderful too, and unlike the other Beyond brats you can get around the parks. I just can’t stop gushing about the flavors in this one. Unfortunately it is not gluten-free, for those wondering.
You can also take this to go if you’d like to eat it back in your room, or at the tables outside. This new dish is a win all-around! Let me know if you try it and what you think!
