Disney has been doing a lot of sneaky menu updates (mostly only affecting us vegans hrmph!) and not updating the menus online or on the My Disney Experience App – Yachtsman Steakhouse is the latest spot to receive a new vegan entree – Trumpet Mushroom Scallops. Let’s see what this new entree is all about.
As of January 2023, the entree has changed at Yachtsman Steakhouse to a Vegan “Scallops” dish. The previous entree was the Sweet Potato and Mushroom Dumplings and you can read the full review of all the Yachtsman Steakhouse vegan options here. This entree was hit or miss, with many people being served dried out dumplings that were almost inedible. It was also not a lot of value for the price. This new dish looks very lovely, and I do miss the vegan “scallops” that were available at Toledo in the Gran Destino Tower of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

The new entree is Trumpet Mushroom “Scallops” with Faro Rice, Squash, and Spinach Puree.
Alysha said she did enjoy the vegan scallops dish but the squash was completely unseasoned. The faro contained chickpeas and golden raisins which she and I agreed is another thing Disney is doing a lot in dishes these days. I am excited to have another plant-based whole food option, however, and I will have to head over to Yachtsman Steakhouse and try this new Vegan “Scallops” dish soon!
