Many moons have passed since we shared the first vegan cupcake we found at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort in April of 2022. Now, three years later, we have a replacement — a Strawberry Lemonade vegan cupcake replacement! Three long, dry, banana-flavored years (iykyk – and if you don’t know, the previous cupcake was dry, flavorless and tasted like banana 😕 ).
Strawberry Lemonade Vegan Cupcake Ingredients:
That time has ended as we now have a NEW vegan/allergy-friendly cupcake! It’s not just a new recipe, it’s vanilla rather than chocolate, and has flavored frosting! This new vegan cupcake is Strawberry Lemonade flavored. We are hoping this means it will actually change seasonally in flavor and not just appearance (the other cupcake had different colored frosting and decorations based on season, but the flavor was always the same – plain frosting and the chocolate cake). The ingredients show this white cupcake is made with Bob’s Red Mill vanilla cake mix, which uses tapioca flour and whole wheat sorghum flour rather than the chocolate, which used Namaste brand and brown rice flour. Now let’s talk about taste!
Strawberry Lemonade Vegan Cupcake Review:
My hopes were high, but not TOO high based on the last three years, but I was pleasantly surprised with my first bite. The frosting was bursting with flavor — tart lemonade and sweet strawberry to be exact. And the cake…wow…the cake was soft, fluffy, and, most shocking of all, tasted wonderful!! If you are used to the vegan/gluten-free Mickey waffles, it was reminiscent of that, but cakier. It was perfectly baked and I just couldn’t get over how improved it was from the previous cupcake. If you like strawberry lemonade flavors, I think you’ll love it. If you don’t, hopefully there will be a new flavor to try in the Fall (pumpkin spice perhaps?? apple? I’m not picky!). Now, where to find this sweet little vegan treat?
Where to find in Walt Disney World:
As with the previous allergy-friendly vegan cupcake, you can find the new Strawberry Lemonade vegan cupake at all value resorts. We confirmed it is at all three Disney’s All-Star Resorts: All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, and All-Star Movies. It is also found at Disney’s Art of Animation and Disney’s Pop Century Resorts. It will soon be arriving at Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside (should be by the end of May) and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort soon too. As of writing this, they still have the chocolate cupcake. We also have some news about the vegan food options at the value and moderate resorts, so check back with the site soon! Right now, the My Disney Experience app and Walt Disney World website menus are being updated so this may not appear right away but it IS in the resorts above and coming soon to the others.
Let me know if you try this new vegan Strawberry Lemonade cupcake and what you think! We are so grateful Disney chefs got this one right (and let them know when we tried it!). Here’s to hoping this continues and updates to new vegan cupcake flavors going forward!
