Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has actually been one of the best spots for unique vegan items. We have previously reviewed their Centertown Market plant-based breakfast options, including a vegan version of the popular breakfast Bounty Platter, and a delicious Avocado Toast. Recently, they added a new vegan item to the Centertown Market lunch and dinner menu: the Plant-Based Fried Yucca Bowl.
Back in 2019, the Spyglass Grill, the outdoor eatery by the Trinidad section of Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, they had a Crispy Yucca Vegetable Bowl that you could modify to be vegan. Since Spyglass Grill has not reopened since the resort originally closed, it is currently not available. Then a few weeks ago, Centertown Market, the main lobby food court area, added a new version of this bowl, with vegan sausage, making it an entree rather than a snack. Here’s the scoop on this new vegan bowl:
Crispy fried yucca is the base for this bowl, topped with plant-based sausage, black beans, Pico de Gallo and vegan cheese. The Plant-Based Fried Yucca Bowl is $15.49 and available by mobile order on your My Disney Experience app.
Since the base for vegan bowls has been tater tots recently, fried yucca is a fun alternative. The sausage (which tastes like Field Roast Italian sausage) is also a wonderful addition. The black beans, Pico, and cheese just tie the whole thing together and make for a very satisfying option!
Other Vegan Options at Centertown Market
Centertown Market also offers an Impossible Burger, if the vegan fried yucca bowl isn’t your thing. Served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles and a side of fries. You can switch that up for fresh fruit as well.
