Suzannah Otis Vegan Disney Food

Hi! I’m Suzannah Mitchell Otis. Welcome to Vegan Disney Food, this place combines three of my favorite things, Disney parks, helping people, and vegan food!

I fell in love with the original EPCOT Center on my first visit there in 1983. I moved to Orlando from Boston in 1995 to be a Cast Member. Later I was a travel agent and after having my 3 children I joined the planDisney panel (the WDW Moms Panel back then). I retired from both of those positions but I’ve been writing and sharing magic at Zannaland.com for the past 15 years. My 3 kids pretty much grew up with Walt Disney World as their local playground. I also launched a Disney history podcast a year ago called Up the Waterfall with my husband, Scott. I’ve been a vegetarian (and vegan off and on) since 2012 and a full-time vegan since 2017.

I made my lifestyle choices initially for animal welfare reasons, as well as, environmental impact. Health is part of it, but I’ll the first to admit vegan does not necessarily equal healthy, and it definitely doesn’t (usually) mean that at a theme park. But there are SO many choices at Disney Parks & Resorts now, and the local Orlando area, it makes being vegan a breeze. When former owner of the site said she wanted to retire from the world of blogging and social media, I naturally offered to jump right in and take over the amazing space she has built here. It feels like a natural fit, and I’ve been loving my time here since taking over in 2021.

What You’ll Find Here

Here at “Vegan Disney Food” you’ll find mouth watering food photos, videos, news, up-to-date comprehensive guides and thoughtful, unbiased reviews of the vegan options being offered at all of the Walt Disney World theme parks and resort hotels.

We understand that planning a vacation around special diets can be a challenge and we are here to help. We take our job very seriously and you can rest assured that any dish we post will be free from meat, dairy, eggs and honey.

First time here at “Vegan Disney Food”? Start with this page: Vegan Options in the Disney Parks and Resorts

Our directories list restaurants in alphabetical order and go into detail about each dining location. We tell you about the vegan as-is options and then we show you how to easily modify non-vegan dishes to be vegan friendly, something the official Disney website doesn’t do. We also tell you where you can find the restaurant, if it is full service or quick service and if the Disney Dining Plan is accepted there. Then we provide links to the official menus and links to our reviews.

The majority of the food we cover is paid for out of our own pocket. If we ever receive something complementary it will be disclosed in the review.

“Vegan Disney Food” is not affiliated with the Walt Disney Company in any way and we do not work for the company.

As noted before, the dishes we post here are free from meat, dairy, eggs and honey. That being said, some items may come into contact with shared surfaces and fryers. Disney is very good at handling special dietary requests. Use the information here as a guide and when in doubt always ask questions. Often times a chef will come speak with you directly from the back of the house if requested.
