Plant-Based Patty Melt at Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom

We had previously shared our review of the “Burger to the Moon” Impossible burger which released on October 1, 2021, for the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney World Resort. The burger wasn’t anything too earth-shattering, but it has now been replaced by a plant-based Patty Melt which is out of this world! As the 50th celebration draws to a close, we are getting some new items here and there around the parks. This new vegan patty melt at Cosmic Rays is a great addition.

It’s still your best bet to mobile order at any quick service location when possible, and it’s even easier when the plant-based option is listed on the menu. Simply choose your pick-up time (planning ahead ensures you get the time of your choice) place your order, and when the time approaches, you can say “I’m here, prepare my order” and the app will let you know where to pick it up when it’s ready.

Sadly, the toppings bars are still a thing of the past, but you can add any condiments of your choice from the available choices of ketchup, relish, or barbecue sauce. You won’t really need any added flavors on this burger as it really packs a punch. Served on Texas toast, your Impossible burger comes with vegan Swiss cheese, pickle slaw, and “asteroid sauce,” aka Thousand Island dressing (plant-based of course). It’s such a step up from a basic, plain burger. Served with a side of fries, the current price is $12.99.

Magic Kingdom isn’t too well known for its quick service options, but with this and the Casey’s Corner Vegan Slaw Dog, you’re covered if family wants to eat at these spots around the park. We definitely recommend avoiding the pizza option at Pinocchio’s, but if you want to avoid meat replacement, head over to Peco’s Bill for the Veggie Rice Bowl.

Let us know if you try this new burger and what you think!
