What’s Vegan at Chef Mickey’s?

Chef Mickey’s character dining just reopened for dinner and revealed a new vegan menu with that reopening. Friend of the blog @iprettymuchlivehere on instagram visited last night and was nice enough to share her vegan Chef Mickey’s photos with us! All photos in this post are courtesy of her – big thanks!

Chef Mickey’s Modified Character Dining:

For those who haven’t been, Chef Mickey’s has been a favorite of Walt Disney World visitors due to the fun character experiences and buffet-style dining. Located on the 4th floor Grand Canyon Concourse of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, it’s easy to get to by monorail as well. With the recent pandemic, there have been several changes to the usual Chef Mickey’s experience.

First, buffet dining has been replaced with family-style dining. This is the new normal for all formerly buffet locations at Walt Disney World. Chefs are preparing the food in the kitchens and bringing them to the  buffet stations, and servers will then bring over selections to your table. In cases where the price is “All You Care to Enjoy,” they will bring you more of anything you’d like additional servings of.

The second change is characters. As has been the case with all character greetings and character dining locations, characters will come out at a distance and wave and pose for photos. So if those two changes are deal breakers for your character/all-you-can-eat experiences, keep that in mind before making your reservations. The pricing is $55 per adult and $36 per child, plus tax and gratuity.

Chef Mickey’s Vegan Options:

First up is the vegan Faro Wheat Fried Rice:

Additional vegan options are mixed vegetables, seasonal composed salad and there are also vegan/gluten-free rolls and vegan butter available too.

You can also get a Tofu Bowl in addition to the Faro Fried Rice. This looks very filling and full of different flavors, and remember, you can get more!

Lastly, the vegan dessert is the Chocolate-Raspberry Tart. These look delicious!

So there you have the vegan options from the newly reopened Chef Mickey’s character dinner. We don’t have an official review since we haven’t been (we keep trying to get reservations! 😛 ) but @iprettymuchlivehere said it was fantastic so we are definitely looking forward to it. Will you be adding this to your next Walt Disney World visit?
