There’s a new dessert at vegan fan favorite Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort! I feel like every post I do lately is discussing the removal of a beloved vegan menu item, but thankfully they haven’t touched the entree at Trattoria al Forno. The plant-based Rigatoni Bolognese is so good and consistently a great choice for vegans.
Previously, you could also get some off-menu vegan garlic knots, but sadly we have heard the chefs are no longer offering that option.
As for the former vegan dessert at Trattoria al Forno, it was a plant-based vanilla ice cream served affogato style with espresso on top. I was not a huge fan of this, even though if you know me, you know I love coffee anything. This just instantly melted the ice cream and you were left with room temperature coffee soup. It didn’t really fulfill my dessert needs lol.
Due to my thoughts on the affogato, I was very excited when my visiting friend Lauren sent me a photo of the new option available for dessert at Trattoria al Forno! Now the plant-based dessert option is the Plant-based Olive Oil Cake for $11. This vegan as-is dessert consists of olive oil-pistachio cake, blueberry compote, candied pistachio, blackberry gelato. I am also a huge fan of pistachios and pistachio flavored things, so I was doubly excited to try this new vegan dessert.
Doesn’t it look beautiful? I have to get over and try it myself, but Lauren loved it! What do you think? Will you be heading over to Trattoria al Forno to try this new vegan dessert? Let me know what you think if so!
You can see our other Trattoria al Forno vegan reviews here, just keep in mind the garlic knots are no more and dessert has changed!
