Vegan Flamingo Cake at The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Pay a visit to quick service restaurant The Mara in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for a snack.
This is the Flamingo Cake and it’s vegan as-is.
The base is a spiced chocolate cake topped with a chocolate ganache.
Its garnished with chocolate pearls, tart berry candy and two ribbons of pink glossed chocolate curls to mimic a flamingo’s feathers.
The ganache on this used to be really rich and dense. I think they changed the recipe for it because more recently the cake and frosting were perfectly balanced.
Sometimes if you ask nicely when having breakfast or dinner over at Boma, the neighboring full service buffet restaurant, they will snag one of these cakes for you since their kitchens are connected.
