Avocado Toast at Artist’s Palette in Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort

Walt Disney World has been really changing up the menus recently (especially vegan/plant-based options) and one of those changes is the vegan breakfast option at the Saratoga Springs quick service location: Artist’s Palette.

Previously, the Harvest Breakfast Sandwich was a favorite here. Just egg, spinach and red pepper with vegan cheddar on a sourdough roll, served with potato wedges. This was a favorite of mine, mostly because I love a good breakfast sandwich and we need more of those as vegan options at Disney, and, it was pretty close to where I live so I could order one to go and have a great weekend breakfast option. But sadly, that option is no more. 🙁

What we have instead with this new menu changed is yet another avocado toast option. I get that this is an easy-to-make-vegan option for Disney chefs, but this brings the avocado toast options to too many to count at this point, including the $75 option at Cinderella’s Royal Table for breakfast. Just Egg is being used everywhere now, including on Disney property. The options using them are all wonderful. In addition, tofu exists and is a great option for those who don’t want to use Just Egg. I just really really wish Disney would hire a vegan chef to consult on all the menu items. That said, here’s the new avocado toast option at Artist’s Palette:

It is a great avocado toast, lots of flavor, on hearty, toasted sunflower bread with avocado, cherry tomatoes, radish, pickled red onions, arugula, and “aïoli.” There’s a lot going on, it’s not super easy to eat on the go, but very filling. Would I go out of my way to get it? Not really, no. If you’re staying at Saratoga Springs, it’s your only vegan option at Artist’s Palette along with oatmeal. They’ve also replaced the potato wedges with tater tots. There isn’t even fresh fruit as a side, but there may be some available in the grab and go section. You can also request vegan/gluten-free Mickey Waffles.
