What’s Vegan and a FIRST LOOK at Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya in EPCOT’s Japan?

Disney announced a while back that Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya would be opening soon, in place of Tokyo Dining in EPCOT’s Japan pavilion, causing us to wonder what, if anything would be vegan at this new sushi restaurant? We now have an opening date of August 30th for this new spot (with reservations now open for lunch and dinner on dates starting 8/28 and beyond – the restaurant is now soft opened for walk-ins), and today Disney released the official menu. Keep in mind this is a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant, so the vegan options will be at a minimum, but it does appear we have some options to choose from, which we have confirmed directly. Keep reading to find out what:

Shiki-Sai celebrates the four seasons in Japan and the various festivals that pay homage to those seasons. The menu cover is beautiful!

Down in the “Roll and Temake” section of the menu, we find some possible vegan rolls:

Oshinko Roll (Daikon) $8.00 – Japanese pickled radish which is wrapped with sushi rice and seaweed (nori)

Ume Shiso Roll $8.00 – simple maki roll with two fillings; umeboshi pickled plums and fresh shiso leaves.
