For spring, summer, and the start of Fall in 2023, H2O Glow is back at Typhoon Lagoon – with a few vegan options to enjoy too! Previously called H2O Glow Nights, this after hours party at Typhoon Lagoon was once themed to “Partysaurus Rex,” the animated short shown in front of “Finding Nemo” back in 2012. There was a giant inflatable Rex in his Partysaurus look and a lot of glowing, extra fun touches. You can see more about that version of the event on our original H2O Glow Nights post from 2018. Back then, there were a lot more food options (and even last year in 2022 there were more), but we still have a few vegan things to choose from. We recently checked out H2O Glow After Hours and share our experience with you below!
First up, here’s all you need to know about the tickets and dates:
Disney H2O Glow After Hours takes place select nights May 20, 2023 to September 2, 2023.
- May 20 and 27
- June 3, 10, 17 and 24
- July 1, 3, 8, 15, 22, 29 and 31
- August 5, 12, 19 and 26
- September 2
This special event is held from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. And you can get a head start on the fun by entering the park at 6:00 PM—a couple of hours before the event officially begins.
Prices

- Adult (ages 10 and up): $75 plus tax
- Child (ages 3 to 9): $70 plus tax

Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club Members can purchase specially priced tickets:
- Passholder or Member – Adult (ages 10 and up): $59 plus tax
- Passholder or Member – Child (ages 3 to 9): $54 plus tax
That’s a savings of $16 off the regular price!

Included in the price of admission is the 3 hour event, plus you can arrive 2 hours in advance, use of all the Typhoon Lagoon attractions, and unlimited popcorn, frozen treats, and soft drinks, plus a souvenir reusable cup to use.
It’s also important to note that these events take place during the rainy season here in central Florida, so rain may be a factor. The show (and event) will go on even in the rain, but will be canceled/closed if there is lightning. It did rain during our visit but didn’t put a damper on the fun!
The next thing to plan ahead for is the food! While the regular water park hours for Typhoon Lagoon were until 8pm, the food locations were closed when we arrived at 6pm. We even planned ahead to be able to try one of the vegan options and were able to mobile order for pick up between 6:25-6:30pm, but when we got there, Typhoon Tilly’s was closed up tight. We did have an amazing cast member, Bob, who helped us out and got us the order we paid for, which we were so incredibly grateful for. But don’t count on that and be aware the regular menu items for the most part will not be available when you arrive at 6pm.
So what were we able to eat during H2O Glow After Hours? We had a special event-only item, the Watermelon Poke Bowl, along with some on-menu items from other locations once they reopened at 8pm. We’ll list them all here:
Leaning Palms (to the left as you enter the park)
Tofu Rice Bowl – Jerk-seasoned Tofu with Rice, Pigeon Peas, and served with Roasted Corn and Peppers, Pineapple Salsa, and Sweet Plantains, $10.49
This is from the regular menu, and is the only vegan item from the regular menu available during H2O Glow After Hours. (See our guide to the vegan items at Typhoon Lagoon here).
The Tofu Rice Bowl was a very hearty portion and was full of some great flavors. The rice and the tofu could’ve used a little more flavor or a sauce, but the corn, salsa and plantains were delicious.
Watermelon Poke Bowl – Ponzu-marinated Watermelon, Lemon Sushi Rice, Seaweed Salad, Picked Vegetables, Edamame, Avocado, Wasabi PEas and Spicy vegan Mayo, $10.99 – H2O Glow exclusive menu item
The Poke Bowl was a fun option, with lots of fresh and delicious flavors – the perfect choice on a hot summer night. Definitely not as filling as the rice bowl. We got both and split them.
Surf Doggies (near the center entrance to the wave pool)
Plant-based Bratwurst Served with Chips, $10.49
This is the usual vegan Beyond brat served in the Disney Parks and Disney Springs and is available during H2O Glow
Snack Shack (next to Typhoon Tilly’s to the right as you enter the park)
Here you can get various flavors of Dole Whip. There is a fun event-specific “bathtub” sundae with every flavor of Dole Whip, but sadly it has vanilla ice cream too, and even sadder, there are no alterations to it. I really hate that Disney culinary has made this “rule” with their fun Dole Whip creations (like the seven dwarfs cones and other princess cones in the parks) and will not alter them, even if you want to do that for dietary reasons.
Also available are various alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, and the classic Typhoon Tilly sipper cup available for purchase.
And that’s it for vegan options during this H2O Glow After Hours event. Much reduced from previous years, but keep in mind you also get unlimited popcorn, frozen treats (strawberry fruit bars and frozen lemonade for us), and soft drinks throughout the event, included in the ticket price.
As far as entertainment goes, there is a character dance party, and a DJ throughout the night, and the most fun, extra rafts thrown in to Castaway Creek! You can enjoy floating down the lazy river in a glitter tube or several Disney-themed tubes. There’s also fun lighting, bubbles, and a general atmosphere of fun. I have to say, being in a water park after sundown is ideal, no sunscreen, and the reduced wait times – we waited 5 minutes at the most for any ride – make this worth it in my opinion. The air was a little chilly after all the storms, but the heated wave pool and lazy river made it totally fine.
Overall, I think this is a great event and would definitely go again in a heartbeat! Let me know if you head to H2O Glow After Hours and try and of the vegan items and what you think.
