We were invited to check out the brand new Sangria University vegan options at Three Bridges Bar and Grill at Villa del Lago in Coronado Springs at Walt Disney World.

The proprietor and head chef here are phenomenal at accommodating vegan guests.

…but I digress. Sangria. Yes…on to the sangria.

If you haven’t heard of Sangria University, it’s a brand new offering that takes place on the weekends at Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago.

The event is led by a sangria sommelier who goes into detail about the history of sangria and the nuances of the restaurant’s house made sangrias.

Guests get to sample four of these fruity drinks which include:

Sparkling Sangria – sparkling wine, peach liqueur, fresh lemonade, strawberry garnish
Blanco Sangria – white wine, orange liqueur, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, passion fruit purée, orange and lemon wheel garnish
Rosado Sangria – rose wine, strawberry gin, apricot liqueur, raspberry purée, apple juice, fresh strawberries and raspberries
Tinto Sangria – red wine, orange liqueur, simple syrup, orange juice, orange garnish

The beverage tastings come with the restaurant’s Curry Lentil Hummus. The hummus is topped with harissa, micro greens and toasted pumpkin seeds. For vegan guests, they will omit the yogurt raita and bring you carrots and cucumber for dipping.

At the end of the tasting guests are able to blend their own sangria.

Base options include a choice of one red, white, rose or sparkling wine.

Liqueurs include a choice of strawberry gin, peach schnapps, triple sec or apricot brandy.

Your selections are delivered table side for mixing and muddling.

Fresh juices, fruits and herbs are available so you can build your sangria according to your individual preferences.

The consensus from all the guests participating the day we attended was that the sparkling wine was the clear winner.

At the conclusion of the event you will receive an official “Certificate of Mastery” to signify completion of this unique course of study.

Sangria University is offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:30 – 3:30 pm. It’s cost is $45 per person. The event is capped at around 15 guests. Three Bridges Bar & Grill can accommodate more people if you’d like to do a buy out for a larger group like a corporate event, bridal party, etc.

Reservations can be made by dialing 407-939-1004. Please email the restaurant after booking at [email protected] to let them know you’ll need vegan wines. The house made Sparkling Sangria is the only option that is vegan as-is. The other three need to be modified with vegan friendly wines.
