Vegan Disney Food Review: Katsura Grill in Epcot’s Japan Pavilion

I don’t know about you, but when I think of Walt Disney World quick service often times I picture a beyond burger and french fries. Today we are going to visit a quick service restaurant with a more whole foods, plant-based approach to vegan fast food. That place is Katsura Grill.

Katsura Grill can be found in Epcot’s Japan Pavilion located in World Showcase between Morocco and the American pavilion.

The restaurant is set in the middle of a Japanese garden on a terraced hillside surrounded by lush trees, koi ponds and grand views of the World Showcase promenade.

Katsura Grill Atmosphere

Katsura Grill is fashioned to look like a traditional Japanese tea house with its thatched roof and bamboo accents.

The restaurant has seating both inside and outside. The interior of the building has a large community style table as well as smaller stand alone seating options for two or four. This is also where you will place your food order.

The inside seating is fantastic for those warm Florida days, but during those short few months where al fresco dining is possible the outdoor patio and garden seating can not be beat.

I love to sit out here and listen to Matsuriza play the Taiko drums.

Katsura Grill Vegan Food Options

Katsura has three vegan options on their menu, which is the same for both lunch and dinner, one entree and two sides.

This is the Vegetable Roll ($8.00) off of their sushi menu. I like to order two rolls for a complete meal. The rolls are composed of sushi rice and nori wrapped around avocado, carrot and cucumber.

Each roll comes with wasabi and pickled ginger. Chopsticks and soy sauce packets are available at the condiment station.

You can also order the Steamed Rice ($2.00) and Edamame ($4.00) off of the sides menu which are both vegan as-is.

Because the sushi rolls come pre-packaged in plastic to-go containers, this makes for a great option to grab and go and take with you as you stroll around World Showcase.

Keep Katsura Grill in mind when you’re looking for a light and healthy meal when spending the day in the Epcot theme park.
