Raglan Road at Disney Springs has always been more than just a restaurant. No matter what you order, you’ll hear live music, see Irish step dancers, and be steeped in all the atmosphere of a traditional Irish pub. Raglan Road may not be known for their vegan options, but they do offer a few things that make it worth a visit. They recently added a new vegan version of their traditional Shepherd’s Pie to the Raglan Road menu:
What Else is Vegan at Raglan Road?
We headed to Raglan Road recently to check out this new vegan Shepherd’s pie and were not disappointed! First though, we had the delicious vegan Onion Rings from their Sides menu. These are not standardly vegan, so you must be sure to request them from the server. UPDATE March 2022: We were informed by a guest that the new batter for Gluten-free onion rings has dairy in it, so sadly this alternative option is no longer vegan. It’s worth asking when you visit, but don’t count on them being available.
Another option you can order that’s not listed as vegan is the Raglan Risotto. Just let them know you need it to be vegan, and it will arrive without parmesan cheese on top.
When we ordered this vegan risotto a few years back, it was served with roasted hazelnuts, but they may have changed the ingredients since then. Here’s our Raglan Risotto vegan style from 2019:
This time, we of course wanted to try the newest item, the vegan on-menu version of their Shepherd’s Pie. This vegan Shepherd’s Pie at Raglan Road is made with: Faro Barley, Carrots, Wild Mushrooms, Green Onion, Peas and Rutabaga topped with Olive Oil Mashed Potato with a burnt Onion Gravy. It was a generous portion and we felt worth the $24 price tag.
You can see all the vegetables in the photo above. The flavors and textures were great, the carrots were still a little crunchy so it wasn’t all mushy textures. If anything, our only complaint was that the potatoes were a little salty. The gravy had a great flavor too and we would definitely order this again.
Don’t let the outdoor menu stand scare you away, it does not list the vegan Shepherd’s Pie at Raglan Road right now, so be sure to check the official menu before making your decisions! We hope this helps you now that you know what’s vegan at Raglan Road.
No matter what you order, enjoy the ambiance and unique experience that is Raglan Road. Of course they are celebrating for St. Patrick’s Day, even if it’s a little different this year. Reservations will be hard to come by, but the great part is, there’s a celebration pretty much every day at Raglan Road! The vegan Shepherd’s Pie is also available on the Raglan Road brunch menu.
