Narcoossee’s Reopening Date with a New Vegan Option

Narcoossee’s, located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, has been closed for refurbishment for some time now – but we now have a reopening date, and a new vegan option! Narcoossee’s will reopen on April 1, with a brand-new menu for all to enjoy. Reservations will open on March 1st for the new menu.  The Disney Parks Blog today shared a sneak peek at some of those items, including the Narcoossee’s bread service and the vegan/plant-based option:

This signature dining restaurant with its spectacular panoramic views, is a staple of the resort, with its waterside location, and over the past several months has seen an enhanced interior revamp as well as a refreshed menu crafted by Chef Noah Estabrook and Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer in a perfect balance of updated classics and new epicurean delights.

The new space incorporates the concept of “land and sea” and that’s exactly what the culinary teams drew inspiration from when developing the new menu. Upon sitting down for your meal, you’ll be greeted with a recipe created by Chef Kristine specially for this location – an Artisan Boule of Sourdough made with a perfectly toasty crust and baked daily in the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa bakery.

The bread looks delicious. We have previously been able to get Earth Balance butter with bread service here.

Next up,  the Roasted Vegetable Paella$34 featuring market vegetables, cannellini beans, and preserved artichoke finished with charred Meyer lemon. In looking at the menu online, we *may* be able to modify the Shrimp and Bucatini dish as well. We’ll of course find out when they reopen.

Looking at the new menu online, it looks like the previous menu option of plant-based sweet potato gnocchi will be an appetizer now for $16. I sure will miss that fried eggplant!

The article featured a few new Narcoossee’s desserts, and looking at the new menu online, it looks as though we have a hazelnut dessert: Hazelnut Chocolate Bar – Chocolate Sponge, Cassis, Ganache (Plant-based) $14.00. This sounds similar (in fact it’s the same name) to the Hazelnut Chocolate Bar dessert at Citricos before their refurbishment and new menu. That dessert had one of my favorite vegan frozen desserts ever (until the Apple Rose on the new Citricos menu!), so I wonder if they’ll keep that as well. Check back here to see when we share our full review when Narcoossee’s reopens on April 1! Until then, you can see our full review of the previous vegan options at Narcoossee’s, including the vegan carrot cake dessert.
